SORA Application Package — EASA Specific-category Authorization Support

The SORA Application Package is a fixed-scope documentation service for professional UAS operators seeking an EASA Specific-category operational authorization. WasherDrone acts as your technical author: we build the complete SORA 2.5 documentation set, aligned to your operation and the requirements of your national aviation authority. The service is hardware-neutral — you do not need to be a WasherDrone equipment customer. The operational authorization itself is issued by the competent national authority, based on your submission.

How it works

The engagement runs through three phases. WasherDrone owns the documentation work; the operator owns the operational decisions and the submission itself. The competent national aviation authority issues the operational authorization based on the submitted package.

1. Discovery & prerequisites: A 30-minute session confirms the operation, jurisdiction, and UAS configuration. The client provides the seven-item prerequisite set; the four-week clock starts when this and payment are complete.
2. Documentation authorship: WasherDrone drafts the complete SORA 2.5 package over four weeks: ConOps, risk assessment, SAIL determination, OSO matrix, mitigations, ERP, and Operations Manual sections. Two rounds of client review are included.
3. Submission & RFI response: The client submits the package to the competent national aviation authority under their own signature. WasherDrone drafts responses to up to two rounds of authority clarification requests.

What we do, and where our authority ends

The SORA Application Package is a documentation service. It is not a compliance guarantee, and it is not an authorization. Three parties carry distinct responsibilities in the process:

• Client's role. The operator provides operational context and prerequisite documents, submits the final package to the national aviation authority under their own signature, and executes the authorized operation.
• WasherDrone's role. As technical author, WasherDrone prepares the SORA documentation set to the SORA 2.5 methodology, aligned to the operator's declared operation and the requirements of the target competent authority.
• Authority's role. The competent national aviation authority assesses the submission and issues, modifies, or refuses the operational authorization. This decision is not delegable to WasherDrone or to Heudens SRL.

SAIL coverage of this package SORA classifies operations into six Specific Assurance and Integrity Levels (SAIL I to VI). The complexity of the required documentation and the depth of authority scrutiny increase sharply with SAIL. This package is scoped to the two lower levels.

Most façade cleaning, inspection, and comparable commercial UAS operations conducted in controlled ground environments fall within SAIL I or II. Operations at SAIL III or higher — typically involving BVLOS in populated airspace, or higher-risk ground environments — require a custom scope and quote.

Neither WasherDrone nor Heudens SRL is an accredited EASA Qualified Entity, UK CAA Recognised Assessment Entity, or a delegate of any national aviation authority. All authorization decisions rest with the competent national aviation authority.

Before you deploy

Not an approval guarantee. The operational authorization is issued by the competent national aviation authority, based on the submission and their own assessment. WasherDrone is the technical author of the documentation.

National authority fees excluded. Each national aviation authority sets its own application fee schedule. These fees are the client's responsibility and are not included in the package price.

EASA member states only. Scope is limited to EASA member state authorities. Non-EASA jurisdictions (UK CAA, Turkish SHGM, Azerbaijan, others) fall outside this package.

SAIL I and II coverage. This package covers operations classified at SAIL I or SAIL II. Operations scoped at SAIL III or higher require a custom quote.

Client provides prerequisites. Timeline starts when all seven prerequisite items are delivered by the client and payment is received. Delayed prerequisites delay the timeline.

RFI scope. Two rounds of authority RFI response are included. Additional rounds are available at a separate rate.

Client prerequisites. Operator declaration, third-party liability insurance evidence, remote pilot licence and theoretical knowledge records, UAS technical dossier (make, model, MTOM, C-class), operational site coordinates and volumes, current Operations Manual if any, and a signatory Point of Contact.

Contracting entity. Contract and invoicing are handled by Heudens SRL (Romania). WasherDrone acts as authorized reseller and coordinates the engagement.

Shipping and customs duties are not included. National aviation authority application fees are excluded.
